Monster Hunter's more laid back moments, on the Game Boy.
Starting as an attempt to recreate the farm mechanics seen in Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, this is a Mon Hun throwback focused on the quiet village life. The original intent was to create a Stardew-esque farm game with dating sim like mechanics, but after tinkering in GB Studio I'm actually curious to see how much a Game Boy demake of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite could be pushed.
This is a casual project for now, so if any of you feel excited about continuing in the farm genre or pivoting into an action genre game let me know, I'd love to hear what y'all think.
Made using GB Studio for GB Compo 2021.
Demo currently available as a Game Boy ROM, playable on hardware or emulator. Content is light, Demo V1 is a stroll through GB-ified Pokke Village for the most part.

[NOTICE] GB Studio 3.0
I'll be holding off on new game content as I'd like to port the project into GB Studio 3.0. This broke a lot of the game systems that were currently there, so I'll take time to tune things for a revised 3.0 Demo with Analogue Pocket support.

With the newly released Analogue Pocket, and the newest update for GB Studios, are you planning to publish the .pocket version of this game? I’d love to be able to play this on my Pocket, so I hope so!
I’ve been messing around in 3.0 so far but need to take some time to port it properly since a lot of variables broke in the transition. When I get around to catching up the current demo then it’ll be easier to export to Pocket alongside the GB version though!
